About Airleader
A company with a history
It began with a practical question: why do so many compressed-air stations use more energy than necessary? The search for better coordination between compressors led to Airleader.
The beginnings
Experience in service and sales
Werner Weidner gained more than 14 years of compressor experience at Sullair, later EcoAir. As EcoAir's branch manager in Stuttgart, he repeatedly encountered the same problems at customer sites: large compressors running despite low demand, uncoordinated switching and long idle periods causing unnecessary electricity costs. It was not just individual machines that needed improvement, but how they worked together.
1992
The founding and the first Airleader
Werner Weidner founded WF Steuerungstechnik GmbH and launched the first Airleader in 1992. The idea was to control compressors from different manufacturers together, matching their operation to actual consumption measured in real time. Manufacturer-independent control and practical visualisation included as standard were part of the concept from the outset.
Today
Proven in more than 10,000 stations
Straightforward integration into existing systems also made Airleader attractive for modernising compressed-air stations. Today, more than 10,000 compressor stations in Germany alone use Airleader. The guiding principle remains the same: coordinate existing compressors according to demand, avoid unnecessary idling and make operation transparent.
