Knowledge & Support · FAQs

Practical answers for your Airleader.

Find firmware details, diagnose communication faults and set up your web server: these answers cover common support questions. Check the device generations and software versions mentioned; wiring and control parameters must only be changed by qualified personnel.

Device & control

Serial numbers, communication and control pressure.

Where can I find my Airleader's firmware version and serial number?

For MASTER modules, the web visualisation shows the firmware version under Settings → Remote control → Configuration table, with the controller number directly above it. The controller number is the serial number. Without web access, use the device label or control panel:

  • MASTER I: Access the device details using the membrane keypad; see the relevant manual for the key sequence.
  • MASTER II: On the touchscreen, open Status → Controller and SD card.
  • MASTER II+: On the touchscreen, open Status → System information.
  • Menu names vary by generation. Note the complete serial number and software version before contacting support.
Download your controller manual →
Why does the MASTER module report no communication with the compressors?

Start by checking the bus connection and communication module assignments. Work through these three points:

  • Have qualified personnel check the bus cable and connections against the wiring diagram.
  • Compare the configured module addresses with the addresses set on the modules.
  • When extending the bus over Ethernet, the response timeout may be too short. Consult support before adjusting the communication parameters.
Can Airleader control more than two variable-speed compressors?

Yes. Capacity depends on the controller type, software version and enabled options. The current controller variants offer these capacities:

  • EASY: one VSD compressor as standard, optionally up to four.
  • MASTER 4 and CN light: two VSD compressors as standard, optionally up to eight.
  • CN: two VSD compressors as standard, optionally up to 32.
  • Older MASTER and CN generations may have different limits. Support can check expansion options using the serial number.

How can different pressures at multiple measurement points be taken into account?

The MASTER module and CN can calculate an average control pressure from up to three pressure transmitters at different locations. Permitted deviations can be defined for the readings. If a sensor exceeds these limits, its reading is excluded from the average. Measurement locations and limits must suit the system; this function does not replace investigating actual pressure losses in the network.

Can Airleader's actual pressure be passed to a VSD compressor?

Yes. On suitably equipped MASTER/CN systems, the Airleader control pressure is available at the communication modules' AO analogue output. A compatible variable-speed compressor can use this signal as its actual pressure reading, giving both systems the same pressure information. Qualified personnel must check the connection, signal range and scaling against the relevant device documentation.

Installation & web server

When the visualisation will not start.

These instructions apply to locally installed Airleader web servers. File paths and settings may differ between software generations; coordinate changes with your IT team.

The browser reports that the page cannot be loaded after installation. What should I check?

First test the connection on the computer where the Airleader web server is installed:

  • Open http://localhost, then http://127.0.0.1 in the browser. Include the port if a non-default port is configured.
  • Check whether the web server is running and whether another program is already using HTTP port 80.
  • In the older Tomcat-based installation, the connector port is set in installation-folder/webserver/conf/server.xml. If port 80 is occupied, IT can back up the configuration, select a free port such as 8080 and restart the web server.
  • Then open the address with the correct port, for example http://localhost:8080. From another computer, replace localhost with the Airleader server's IP address or hostname.
Why does a different website appear instead of Airleader after installation?

An existing web server, such as Microsoft IIS, may already be responding on port 80. Check which service handles the requested address. If there is a port conflict, have the Airleader web server configured to use a free port. Older installations use the connector entry in webserver/conf/server.xml. After restarting, include the new port in the address, for example http://192.168.0.50:8080. Do not abruptly stop another production web server to resolve the conflict.

Installation hangs on Windows 7. What should I know about this legacy setup?

The earlier instructions cover a Windows 7 installation where security or permission settings prevent creation of the web server service. Ask IT to check installation permissions and service installation. Do not simply disable User Account Control or the firewall. Before continuing to use or migrating this legacy setup, ask support to confirm the software version and a suitable operating system.

Visualisation, network & data

Establish connections and keep working with your data.

The panel displays a communication error. How do I narrow down the cause?

Start with the network connection before changing storage or configuration:

  • Use PING in the visualisation's diagnostics area to check whether the controller is reachable. A failed PING alone does not prove a device fault; network settings can also prevent a response.
  • If PING succeeds, check whether the IP address has accidentally been assigned to more than one device.
  • If the connection and addressing are correct, internal storage or the SD card may be involved. Agree further diagnostic steps with support.
  • Do not initialise the SD card as a precaution: this can cause data loss. Back up the data first, and proceed only according to the relevant device manual and with approval.

Why does the controller not accept entered values despite having the Webserver Plus option?

On older MASTER installations, the Prog key switch must be set to Off for this remote-control function. The access code entered must also be correct. Check both against the manual for your device generation. Only authorised personnel may change control parameters; if values are still not accepted, contact support with the model and software version.

Why is the web server only accessible from its own computer?

If the visualisation works locally but not from other computers, the firewall may be blocking incoming connections. Ask IT to check the HTTP port actually in use: usually 80 in these installations, or for example 8080 after a change. Access should be restricted to authorised computers or internal networks. Do not disable the firewall completely or expose the server to the internet without a review.

Can I save Airleader data on a network drive?

In principle, yes. However, this web server installation does not support selecting a network drive as the data destination during setup. The web server runs as a Windows service and does not automatically have access to drives mapped in a user account. Install using a local data folder first. IT must then configure the network path and the service account's access permissions and test write access.

Why is the old software version still displayed after an update?

First check that you are accessing the updated Airleader web server. Older installations may require uninstalling the previous version before installing the new one. From version 3.000, the instructions describe a built-in online updater, provided the server has the required internet access. Before reinstalling, back up the data and record the controller IP address and data folder. The correct update procedure depends on your version; if unsure, contact support before uninstalling.

OPC connectivity

Make new compressors visible in the OPC server.

A new compressor is configured but does not appear in the OPC server. What is missing?

The older Airleader OPC server reads the system configuration only at startup. After adding a compressor, this server therefore needs to be restarted. Disconnect the OPC clients in a controlled manner first, restart the server and reconnect the clients afterwards. Coordinate the brief interruption to data transmission with the responsible system owners. For other OPC or OPC UA versions, follow the relevant documentation.
